Añangu Kichwa Community

  • Activities at Yasuní National Park and Añangu are coordinated by members of the local ichwa community and it is important that their rules of conduct and ethics be respected.

Visit the Kuri Muyu

  • At this place you can learn about the Ancestral Kichwa Culture and their old practices.

Hikes

  • The programs include easy and medium intensity walks and hikes in order to observe the wildlife and nature of the area; more difficult hikes and longer programs can be arranged.

ITINERARIES

 

EXTENDED STAY 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS

Almost all the walks will be taken on firm land within the forest. With this, you will be able to feel and enjoy the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador and be amazed with the scents, the sounds, the faun and bright colors the forest offers. The length of the walks will depend on your personal preferences.

During all of the activities, a guide will escort you and will reveal the many properties of the variety of plants you will encounter on your trip and the way to use them. Below you will find details of the extended stay program.

DAY 1

The adventure begins with a short flight from Quito to Coca city through the eastern Andes Mountain. Then, a 5 minutes car drive followed by a trip on a motor boat for a little over 2 hours. During your trip, you will see a lot of rare and beautiful birds that fly over the river.

A staff will be waiting to welcome you when you arrive to the Napo Wildlife Center with complementary drinks and after that, you will take a serene and beautiful canoe ride through a creek for 2 hours until you arrive to the lodge.

DAY 2

You will enjoy of a delicious buffet style breakfast and after that, head to explore the forest from above on a canopy tower. The tower is a few minutes away from the lodge and it’s on a deep part of the forest. There you will have the privilege and pleasure to see more than 500 different kinds of colorful and exotic birds.

DAY 3

On the third day, you will visit the parrot clay licks. There you will enjoy a nice little ride down the Añagu creek and after, a ten minute trip on a boat during which you will see the most amazing and rare birds.

DAY 4

At the beginning of the fourth day, you will take a hike through the Tiputini trail where you will explore and look for more of the Amazon’s exotic animals like the White-faced capuchin monkey, carnivores and other wonders.

DAY 5

After another hike along the Tiputini trail in the morning looking at more of the unique wildlife, you will return to the lodge to enjoy a delicious lunch and have some time to rest. Later in the day, you will be taken with paddle canoes to deeper places within the forest. And to finish, a nice dinner after which you will be shown a video about the NWC community.

 

 

 

PREMIUM TOUR 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS

Live a once in a lifetime experience in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador. Napo Wildlife Center premium tour offers you the opportunity to be part of the astonishing Amazon forest and wildlife. Discover the unique and beautiful flora and fauna along the forest trails and rivers, creeks and lakes of the Amazonia jungle.

DAY 1

Departuring from Quito and after a 30 minute flight over the Andes mountain you arrive to Coca city, the gateway to the Amazon in Ecuador. From there you will be taken to Puerto Francisco de Orellana, where the trip towards the Napo wildlife Center begins.

A 2 hours trip on a motorized canoe downstream the Napo River will lead you to the NWC welcoming area and from there on we will embark into a small paddle-canoe through the Napo River creeks that connect to the Anangu Lake, where the lodge is located.

At your arrival to the Napo Wildlife Center the staff members will be personnel waiting for you with welcome drinks to then take you to your rooms.

 DAY 2

Days at the Napo Wildlife Center start early in the morning, that way you can see and feel the marvelous nature. You will have the chance to see more than 10 different species of birds in the parrot clay licks, the major nature spectacles you will ever see!

After that, you will take a hike that will get you to the Kichwa Añangu community. There you will spend some time with the people from the community, share and learn about their traditions and culture.

DAY 3

Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will be taken to a canopy tower where you will see the forest 36 meters above the floor. It’s a great way to experience the nature and to observe the amazing and colorful birdsthat fly around completely unaware of your presence you wouldn’t have been able to see from the floor.

Later in the day, you will hike through the forest to its interior. There you might be able to see lizards or the amazing Golden mantle tamarin monkeys. Afterwards, you can look around the lakes in a canoe for a chance to find more marvelous animals.

DAY 4

In this final day, you will have one last canoe ride in the Napo River where you might be able to see rare species of birds, Giant otters and other animals. After that, you will begin your trip back to the city of Coca, from where you can book a flight to Quito.
