Itinerary:DAY 01:  LIMA

Arrival, reception and transfer to select Hotel.

Lima was founded in 1535 and in a short period of time became the most important city in the Americas. Today, there are more than eight million inhabitants, and the city shelters immigrants from all corners of the globe, which has transformed it into a mixed city par excellence.

DAY 02 : LIMA

In the morning, visit the city of Lima. This excursion offers the best combination of the different attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary. The Peruvian Viceroyalty was the most important one in the Spanish Empire and Lima was its capital. The highlights of its historical centre are its architecture and the urban design of the city, found in the old streets filled with colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies. Our trip includes the Paseo de la Republica (Promenade of the Republic), Plaza San Martin (San Martin Square) and the Plaza Mayor (Main Square), with their different buildings: Palacio de Gobierno (Government Palace), Palacio Arzobispal the (Archbishop’s Palace), the Basilica Cathedral (Cathedral Basilica) and the Palacio Municipal (Municipal Palace). Visit the most traditional residential areas in the capital: The Olive Grove of San Isidro, Miraflores and Larco Mar, distinctive tourist centre of contemporary Lima.

DAY 03: LIMA – CUSCO – WALKING TOUR

06:15hrs Transfer to the airport to take the regular flight to Cusco.

10:09hrs Arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. Free time to acclimatization.

The city of Cusco, the ancient capital of the Incan Empire, was placed on the World Cultural Heritage List by UNESCO in 1983, and is without a doubt one of the most important destinations in Peru. There are Incan buildings waiting for you to discover them among its cobble-stoned streets.

In the afternoon, we will start our exclusive tour of the city that begins with a visit to the San Pedro Market, where we will know more closely the local products. Then continue to the Koricancha Convent, welcomes us with all its magnificence, where it is still possible to feel the magic of walls that were once entirely covered with gold. We will also visit Santo Domingo Church. After that, we will continue to San Blas, the neighborhood of artisans, to visit its peculiar church and then descend walking down Hatun Rumiyoc Street, finding in our way the Inca Roca Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace today. We will have time to admire the world famous Stone of Twelve Angles. We will continue to the Main Square to have a panoramic view of the Cathedral with a great historic value.

DAY 04: CUSCO – FREE DAY

Enjoy this day at leisure in the Imperial City of Cusco.

Time to explore some of the city’s stunning sights or shop for some of the finest handicrafts and textiles in all of Peru.

You could take the optional full day tour to the «Sacred Valley of the Incas», by the Vilcanota River. We will have the opportunity to share closely the peasants’ customs and bargain with vendors at the typical indian market of Pisac. Lunch in a local countryside restaurant. After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo, built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire.

DAY 05: CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

08:30hrs The day starts with a morning rise to transfer to Ollanta Train Station and board the Train for a journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as «The Lost City of the Incas», one of the best-known examples of surviving Inca architecture. Arrive at Aguas Calientes Station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the marvellous Citadel. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the sacred sun dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds.

After the tour, you will have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site or Aguas Calientes town at your leisure.

At 19:00hrs return to Ollanta train station by train and transfer to Cusco.

DAY 06: CUSCO – FREE DAY

Enjoy this day at leisure in the Imperial City of Cusco.

Time to explore some of the city’s stunning sights or shop for some of the finest handicrafts and textiles in all of Peru.

In the afternoon, you could take the optional tour to Cusco nearby ruins:

Sacsayhuaman.– Located 3 Km. From Cusco, Inca fortress with an excellent and great architecture.

Qenqo.- Ceremonial and Ritual Center, Also place where sacrifices  were made.

PucaPucara.– Was more likely a Tambo, or kind of post house than an actual fortress

Tambomachay.– 7 Km. From Cusco, site for ritual bathing its use was restricted to the higher nobility, who maybe only used the baths on ceremonial occasions.

DAY 07: CUSCO – LIMA

09:00hrs check out

At proper time, transfer to the airport to take the flight to Lima.
